Direct Patient/Family Support Grants
The Abigail Zittoun Family Foundation was created to continue the joy and love that Abby brought into this world and to impact others in the way that she did. One of our core missions is to provide meaningful financial support to families of children with critical illnesses.
Through our relationship with Connecticut Children's Medical Center, we are able to offer this support by purchasing necessary and meaningful items for families based on referrals from qualified practitioners, including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and child life specialists.
Eligible Items
Every family's needs are unique, and we welcome requests that reflect that reality. While items may include medical devices or other essentials for patient care that are not covered by insurance, we also joyfully consider items that ease daily burdens or simply bring a smile during a particularly difficult time. Eligible items include, but are not limited to:
Medical equipment not covered by insurance
Electronics
Specific games or toys
Gift cards to stores or other businesses
Qualified practitioners can apply for direct patient/family support here.
This scholarship is created to continue Abby Zittoun's impact on this world by honoring a graduating senior(s) from Simsbury High School, Simsbury, CT, and/or William Hall High School, West Hartford, CT, pursuing post-secondary education or training. The scholarship will be based on an applicant’s ability to demonstrate the impact, joy, and love they have contributed to their community.
A minimum of $1,000 will be awarded annually to one or more deserving applicants. The Abigail Zittoun Family Foundation, Inc. may award this entire amount to one applicant or may split the amount among multiple applicants.
